We crossed into Wyoming, and then set about to find a place to camp for the night. There are some beautiful free campsites on the shores of the reservoir, but some of them require a 4 wheel drive to get to. Still, we managed to find a great parking spot with a beautiful view.

We got ourselves parked up with a view. Went for a short walk to check out some other sites, but decided that for one night this would do just fine.

Remember I mentioned that storm coming?
Well we never did really get that much rain, but there was some thunder and lightning and high winds. In fact, the wind picked up so much that we both moved our rigs so that we were facing the wind. It was really something!
And then it dies down again.
We had a nice happy hour with Bob and Denise. They are once again taking off on a different route than us, but we should be bumping into them again around Grand Teton National Park.

Slept like a rock... quiet as can be. We headed out early this morning... north towards Montana!

I've done both the east and west sides of Flaming Gorge, prefer the east side.

DeleteWhat a gorgeous site, and just the two of you (well, four of you, but you know what I mean). That part of the country is just so stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time RVing there.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great site, too bad it got so windy for a while though, there was literally sand flying everywhere. It was also so nice that we were able to park well away from others, so no generator noise and it did feel like we had the place to ourselves.
