Beautiful fall colors

After a late Friday night campfire with one too many shots of bourbon, we got up and after breakfast drove up to the ski resort village of Mont Tremblant.

We made our way to the Nez-de-l'indien trailhead to find the parking lot already full, but managed to find parking nearby. Not surprising about the number of people... it was a gorgeous day with the fall colors in full bloom.

It was a 9 km (5.5 mile) trail with a 1,000' elevation gain. No problem for me, but I was a bit concerned about how a couple of the other guys would do!

Beautiful start to the day with a bit of fog.

The first part of the trail went through a maple syrup operation.
The province of Quebec produces 77% of the world supply of maple syrup.

Fall colors.

Rest break.

This guy has a nice spot.

Dave W., Jeff, Dave N., Bruce, Kevin.

It was just a little busy at the top!

View of Lac Tremblant.

Everybody completed the hike, but I think a few of the guys might be a little sore today!

We stopped in the village of Mont Tremblant and took some photos...

Two more months and they will be skiing here!

We got back to the cottage at about 4:00pm. Still a nice day, so Dave took us out in the boat for a tour of the lake....

Dave and Jeff.

Fun weekend with the boys, but not quite the same as when the whole group of us is there. Hopefully things will be back to normal this time next year.

Heading back to Galetta this morning.

    1. That is an understatement, the colours are beautiful. Hopefully we will be as lucky with the colours when we go up to Alex's place in a week and a half's time, seeing that the colours here in Ontario are quite at their peak yet!

  5. WOW! That fall foliage is to die for. We rarely see anything that vibrant down here in the southeastern US. A little concerned about seeing everyone (you guys and all the people on the overlook) not wearing masks nor socially distanced. Hope everyone stays well!

    1. When outdoors and hiking, we are really not that concerned about masks or social distancing. Not about to hug anybody either, but we really think the odds are low enough that we're not worried about it.

  6. Pretty wimpy slope on that ski run. I went down Al's Run at Taos once, you could stand sideways on the slope and reach out and touch the ground without bending over. I only did that once.

    1. Compared to Taos, yes it is a wimpy slope but for eastern Canada I think this is the highest ski hill we have out here and it is a great spot for skiing. The one that we have by my Dad's place is a bunny hill compared to Mont Tremblant but it is a good spot for learning to ski!
