Well the skies cleared up a bit and I never did end up getting our tax return done. I'm pretty good about procrastinating on that kind of thing. With regards to taxes, I use the old procrastinator's motto, which is "Why do today what can be put off until tomorrow?" I've got another ten tomorrows left until the April 30th deadline in Canada, and it's not really all that complicated so I have lots of time. As with most years, I'll likely leave it until the last minute! Especially since we have to pay. If we were getting a refund, you can bet I would have filed long ago.
We ended up going out after lunch, just to go for a walk and pick up a few things.
I also have a few pics to share from the day before when the sky was a nice shade of blue...
Waterfront in Saranda.
Another month and these umbrellas will be busy.
Another view of Saranda.
Yesterday also cleared up, but it was still pretty cloudy when we went for a walk...
Gas station with a coffee shop right close by next door.
Gasoline fumes with your espresso?
We went back to the market where we had bought that really nice homemade raki. Unfortunately she was all out, but we did buy some of her homemade cherry jam. The woman in the stall next door had some raki which we bought, but it's not quite as nice as the other stuff. Oh well, maybe it won't disappear so quickly!
Not much of a sunset, but the clouds were interesting.
Covid numbers continue to drop here in Albania. Yesterday they reported 139 positive tests and 2 deaths. A month ago they were 1,000 positives and 20 deaths per day. They've dropped so much that yesterday Albania closed the border to people coming in from Greece and North Macedonia where numbers are higher. This, at the same time when
Greece is opening their borders to other countries. Strange stuff.
They are now vaccinating anyone over the age of 60 here in Albania. Nowhere does it say anything about residents only, so we think that when they reduce the age limits in the next week or two, we are probably eligible. We are kind of indifferent about the whole vaccine thing and still undecided, but if it makes travel easier (and it likely will) then we will probably go for it.
Still no news out of Germany regarding the updates to their restrictions.
Today, we are headed north up the coast to see some of the things we missed on the way down to this area.

Record low deal on this
Portable Home Gym. Looks like it would be easy to take in the RV.
And in Canada...
Love the scenic pictures.
ReplyDeleteLike the southwest US, Albania is not flat like where we live.
Some places are still using the Eight Week period between the first and second vaccine. Ontario has now spread it to Four Months. If you get the vaccine make certain you will have time for both.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It is very scenic here and it is only going to get better as we get into the mountains. No, Albania is not flat but they do have a few areas that are but the mountains aren't far away.
DeleteThank you, we will have to keep that in mind if we can and do get the vaccine here in Albania.
