We've now been in Canada for just over two weeks already and August is coming to a close. We will still be here for the full month of September though.
Since we have arrived, we have seen all of the family except for my younger sister. We also haven't seen any of our friends, and we know how quickly the next four and a half weeks will fly by. So we need to make some plans.
We've been really busy finishing up things to do with Ruth's dad's estate and although we're not done yet we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We're actually taking a day off from that stuff today... just because we need to!
September will be better.
It's our granddaughter Sadie's 8th birthday today, and we were invited to join them at Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal. It would have been fun, but we really needed a break. We will join them at her actual birthday party with her friends on Wednesday.
And then at some point in September we are going to take the grandkids to the Toronto Zoo. They're at the perfect age for that. We'll do it over two nights so it will be a fun couple of days away for them with Grandma and Grandpa. We had already prearranged this with our housesit homeowners, so that part of it is looked after. We'll rent an Airbnb in Toronto for the two nights so that we can have a full day at the zoo. Not sure which days yet, but we're hoping to do it on a weekday because it should be a little less busy there.
And of course I'm looking forward to my annual guys weekend away starting on the 24th. Last year's event wasn't fully attended due to Covid, but we are all fully vaccinated this year and everyone is planning to be there.
We head back to Europe on September 30th and we're not planning on returning to Canada until next August. My guys weekend away is being planned for Calgary next year, so that gives us a good opportunity to return to Cabri Park in Saskatchewan and visit friends there. We're also hoping that daughter Lindsey and the grandkids will be visiting us in Turkey at some point this winter.

ReplyDeleteNot sure I would say exciting times ahead for the month of September but definitely some fun times, especially compared to these last few weeks of working on my dad's house. :-)
