We recently spent two months in Tanzania and never went on safari. We simply couldn't justify the ridiculous cost, especially right after we spent ridiculous amounts of money climbing Kilimanjaro. And actually, I don't regret not doing the safari thing.
We still have great memories from the five days we spent on safari in Namibia's Etosha National Park, and while I'm sure the Serengeti would have been a different experience, we've learned that you can't see everything and have accepted the fact that there are some things in this world that we're going to miss.
Ruth, with the first giraffe that we spotted.
Anyhow, enough reminiscing.
Yesterday, we went to our granddaughter's birthday party. Lindsey had reserved an outdoor pool, so the kids had a great time splashing about.

Grandson Cameron.
Look how high I can jump Grandpa!
Birthday cake time.
Granddaughter Sadie, the birthday girl.
Lindsey made this beach cake, and Sadie helped decorate it.
We're headed back up to the house today to finish up a few more things.

Nice deal on this HP Chromebook Laptop.
And in Canada...
Happy Birthday to Sadie and the cake looks delicious. Great job!
ReplyDeleteKevin you are right you can’t see everything but you guys have seen so much more of our world then most of us. Enjoy your next adventure!
Thank you for Sadie's birthday wishes, we have passed them on to here. Her mom made the birthday can and Sadie had fun helping to decorate it, it tasted delicious. :-)
DeleteWe have seen a lot but we have also missed lots too but we have loved it all and wouldn't change a thing.
