There is so much to see and do

Saturday was a bit of a rest day. We liked our spot at the ski hill. There were very few people coming and going, and even overnight we only had one other motorhome and they were parked quite far away.

So we decided to just hang out for the day.

We're also approaching the half way point in this Norwegian adventure. So we revised our plan as to how far north we're going to get, and essentially the answer is... not much further! We don't see the point... there is so much to see and do. We could come back to the same area we've already been to and see and do a bunch of new things in the same time frame.

So, we're now headed as far north as the Geiranger fjord which is the other UNESCO listed fjord, and another of the most scenic (as if the others aren't). But there are a couple of nice hikes we want to do there. Then, we'll head west to the North Sea and then south to Bergen and finally back to our ferry departure a month from today.

Geiranger is only 85 kms (53 miles) away as the crow flies, but as you can see from the map below there is a glacier in between us. So it's actually a 232 km (144 mile) drive to get there from our current location.

We are at the blue dot right now, and we want to get as far as Geiranger, the red marker.

And of course we are totally flexible as to our plans anyhow... with the exception of being at our ferry for July 26th.

We did manage to get out for a short hike yesterday. Gotta keep active! In fact, I read a quote the other day from a 70 year old physician. He said "Once you hit 60, exercise like your life depends on it. Because it does."

Just under 5 kms (3 miles) or so.

  1. I never want to own a recliner. I prefer my weights and my 10K everyday and even then, I don't think it's enough. Keep moving.

    1. Lol, the closest that we have ever been to owning a recliner is having to front seats in both our motorhomes that could recline!

We are with you, we try to get out and get exercise everyday and now we have got into a habit of using our tension bands regularly too. We want to be able to continue doing what we are doing for as long as we can, so the trick is not to stop.
