It feels great to be booking some travel again!

We decided to stay a second night at our free campsite in the forest. It was just a really quiet, peaceful spot. The German couple left in the morning, but the family from Belgium also decided to stay another night.

So what did we do all day? Well, not much of anything! It's good to take a day like that every now and then.

I puttered around and gave Max a bit of a sponge bath. Kind of a waste of time since I knew the forecast was calling for rain that evening. And sure enough, it is raining this morning as I write this! But, I got off some of the road grime anyhow.

Considering we've had Max for over a year now and he's got almost 17,000 kms (10,500 miles) on the clock, he's holding up pretty well. Not much in the way of stone chips or anything like that. The only thing we had happen once was when they were doing some road repairs and some road tar got splashed up a in the wheel wells and the rocker panels and the bottom of the doors. I'm going to have to get some solvent to remove it.

Ruth worked on labeling our photos for a few hours. And I did some more travel planning for our three months away from Max.

We are going to England for a few weeks. We'll start with visiting Ruth's aunt who lives right in central London. Then I booked a Mega Bus from London to Leeds. If you book well in advance, Mega Bus are mega cheap! One way from London to Leeds was only £5 each and so I splurged and we bought the extra legroom seats for another £2 each. So only £7 ($10.85 CAD, $8.40 USD) each for the four and a half hour bus ride!

We're looking forward to spending some time with friends Glen and Steve for a few days, then we will hop on Mega Bus again from Leeds to Bristol. This journey was a little more expensive. I guess it's not as popular a route as the London to Leeds one. Anyhow, it was £13 each, plus the £2 for the extra legroom seats, plus £1 more to book the front row of the upper deck. Seemed worth it for the extra pound! So a total of £16 ($24.80 CAD, $19.60 USD) each for the five and a half hour ride from Leeds to Bristol.

Ruth's cousin Helen and her husband Tony will pick us up in Bristol, and then we'll spend a few days at their place before the four of us drive to Gatwick Airport and fly to... Tirana, Albania. We haven't booked it yet, but that will be around October 1st. We'll rent a car for a couple of weeks, and show them some of what we love about Albania. Hoping also to get into Kosovo on this trip.

So, while we will be missing Max for almost three months, it feels great to be booking travel again. Even though we love traveling and exploring by motorhome, we also love doing some car rental and Airbnb travel as well. And we always have lots of laughs with Helen and Tony, so we're looking forward to that.

We did get out for a walk in the evening, so we weren't totally lazy!

Here's our driving route since we left Stavanger.

We finally finished watching all six seasons of The Sopranos. We found it was getting a bit old by the 5th season, and it was a bit of a struggle watching the 6th season. Almost glad that it was over! We're now into the third season of Designated Survivor, and also finding that seasons 1 and 2 were better than season 3. We've just started watching the popular 70's show Happy Days and have now finished the first season. And, we're watching the old 50's series "The Honeymooners" with Jackie Gleason. He's a little loud sometimes, but it's pretty funny.

Looks like the rain has returned for our last couple of days in Norway. But it's not windy and not that cold (high of 18C, 65F) today, so we'll just have to put up with a little bit of wet!

It's difficult to find an e-bike that is both a deal and has decent reviews at the same time. But this one is not bad. It's on sale at 11% off, but there is also a $150 coupon showing on the product page. On the downside, there is a $50 delivery charge, but that is fairly standard with e-bikes... HITTROAD Electric Bike.

And in Canada...

  1. Dh and I stream a series every evening and often find the same - they should have quit while they were ahead. I remember Happy Days in prime time. They don't make them like that anymore. Really looking forward to the next steps in your journey.

    1. It's a little frustrating when that happens because you want to see how they end it but you are not enjoying it as much as you did at the beginning. And, even when they end it, they don't really end it!

We loved Happy Days years ago and still enjoy it now, and you are correct, they don't make TV shows like that anymore! :-(

We are also looking forward to the coming months, it is always nice to switch things up a bit. :-)
