A dull dreary driving day

Sticking to the backroads, we managed to put on 180 kms (112 miles) yesterday.

The weather is exactly as we expected it to be... wet, and cool with a high of about 8C (47F).

Here are some photos from the drive...

This church looks like the steeples were never properly finished.

Oh... some blue sky!
It didn't last though.

And, the Eiffel Tower!

Yesterday's drive.

We are finding it easy to get decent free overnight parking though. It seems that every second town has some kind of motorhome spot available, some with paid services where you pay €1 for two hours of electric, or €1 for water, etc. France is definitely easy for that. Haven't been on any motorways so far, most of which are toll roads although I've read that they aren't that expensive.

Looks like the rain and cold are to continue for the foreseeable future, at least until we get to the southern coast.

Today, in to Switzerland!

  1. I just can't get over that green grass. Even here in the Southern US, it's almost fully brown everywhere.

    1. We were actually surprised at how green things still are here, it must be because of all the rain, also many of the fields do have some kind of fall/winter crop growing in them.
