On the road again!

So, yesterday around noon I saw a postal van drive by, and minutes later the doorbell rang. Sure enough, it was the delivery we had been waiting for! A couple of hours after that, the tracking number was updated to say our package had been delivered. Too funny. There had been no updates at all since Tuesday when they said it had arrived in France. Not a great system.

But it was a little too late in the day to get any driving done. Plus, it was Black Friday so we were busy with that. Amazon had a lot of record low prices, which in times of high inflation is actually quite surprising.

This actually gave us a chance to get prepared though. We did some laundry, including sheets, and will have showers this morning before we leave so it's like we're getting another fresh start.

Hoping to do about four hours driving which would put us somewhere about halfway between Versonnex and Montpellier which is at the south coast of France.

By the way, forecast high at Montpellier today is a balmy 16C (61F) with sunshine. So, we don't have that far to go to increase the odds of nice weather!

Here's an approximate map of our route so far since we arrived back in Germany on November 5th...

Our route so far.

We had originally thought we would be in Spain by now, and actually, despite all of the detours, we're only a few days away. Maybe 700 kms (434 miles) to go.

So, the plan now is to go to the tiny country of Andorra on the border of France and Spain. It's located up in the mountains though, so a visit there will be dependent on the weather when we get in that area.

Gotta go... we have some driving to do!

  1. I always loved Andorra. Check out the booze prices there and stock up. (No taxes on booze in Andorra... A quart of Cutty Sark used to sell for $2 back in 1968)

    1. Let's hope the weather will be decent so that we can make a visit there and if we do we will be sure to check out the prices of the booze. We will also check out the price on a bottle of Cutty Sark and get back to you with the price. :-)

  2. I would guess the Cutty Sark is now $10 in 2022.

    1. I could be wrong but I think it might cost a little more than that by now.
