Once the sun appeared, we set off up the mountain behind us.
It was a bit cold at first, but we warmed up soon enough due to the exercise.
And even though it was a bit cool, there was lots of blue sky!
Beautiful views.
Heading higher.
Scenery along the way.
And higher yet.
But when we got to the turn off to get to the upper ridge, we decided against it. We had been climbing fairly gradually, but had we gone to the upper ridge it was a steep climb and it was getting colder and windier.
As it was, we could still do a circular route from that point, so we just headed back down. We got a good two hour hike in, so felt good about the exercise.
Back at Max, we had a late lunch and then did a little driving.
Not much traffic on the backroads.
Abandoned, or never completed?
Scenery along the way.
Cave homes outside the village of Orce.
The main road through Orce is a little narrow!
More scenery.
We stopped in Baza to pick up some groceries at a Mercadona grocery store and decided to spend the night parked on a quiet street behind the store itself. Nothing special, but I just didn't feel like driving anymore.
This morning, we are headed to Guadix.
Yesterday's drive, 75 kms (47 miles).
