Another van showed up the other evening. A younger couple from the Netherlands. Just before lunch on the rainy day, our German host invited us all in for soup.
Ruth, at the kitchen table!
Lunch is served.
With some kind of tea.
The tea was made with this stuff.
No idea what it is.
This local fellow passed by the motorhome a couple of times.
The rains from Wednesday passed overnight and we woke up Thursday morning to a clear blue sky.
Max, at 8:00am.
By 10:30am, it had warmed up enough to go for a hike. Our host had pointed out a couple of hills we could climb. There were no marked paths or anything, just the sheep and goat trails.
Where Max is parked.
It's a pretty landscape.
Ruth, enjoying the view.
Me, at the top!
Zoomed in on Max down below.
Nice view!
We climbed back down, and then just followed a dirt road that led past some farmhouses.
Ruins of some kind.
Ruth.
We were a bit surprised that they have electricity!
And despite the farm houses looking like they are pretty much made of mud, they all have satellite tv dishes on the roof.
Gotta get going.... today is the big day. We are off to Casablanca Airport. Next blog post coming to you from Mauritania!

I think that’s absinthe. We had tea made with it too.
ReplyDeleteI think you are correct, thank you. The tea was very nice tasting.
DeleteThat is one tiny table! I wonder what people with bad knees do?
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely a low table but everyone just held the bowl of soup up in their hand to eat. I expect that someone that is quite old or with bad knees gets to sit in a higher chair.
DeleteLooks like rosemary. The guy looks like he's running back and forth to the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteJane is correct with her answer, the plant is absinthe and it makes a very nice tea.
DeleteLol, it does rather but he actually wasn't moving really quick.
