We took off around 11:00am for a walk into town. Arcos de la Frontera is an old Moorish town with a history dating back to the 10th century. The geography is really interesting because the older part of town is surrounded on three sides by a river, and steep narrow streets make up the road network. Not motorhome friendly!
Max was parked outside of town, so we had some climbing to do.
Looking back towards the newer part of town.
Starting to get a view.
Can you see Max?
Zoomed in on Max.
A nice outdoor cafe.
Lots of potted plants on the walls.
The road is barely wide enough for one car.
Church entrance.
Another church.
View from beside the castle.
Pretty bougainvillea flowers.
Looking north.
The church is getting ready for the Easter procession.
It's definitely a scenic little town.
One of the three original arches to enter the old town.
Back at Max for a late lunch and an afternoon nap. We made a plan to go out again, but not until after dinner. There was a river walk we wanted to do.
View out Max's front window.
It was almost 7:30pm by the time we set out again. We didn't really plan on it, but our evening stroll turned into a 7 km (4.2 mile) power walk! It was getting dark by the time we got back. Oh well, we needed the exercise!
Evening stroll.
Looking up at the cliffs.
Heading back through town.
Dusk in Arcos de la Frontera.
A good day exploring!
Today, we drive north to the big city of Seville.

Decent price drop on the popular Solo Stove Bonfire.
And in Canada...
The flowerpot walls are just lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe agree they add a nice touch! We actually have seen them quite often here in Spain on our past visits.
