So, first stop was in Tordesillas. The main road goes right by the single photo that Dad took there.
There's also a roadside restaurant at that location, so we wonder if the bus he was on stopped for lunch there. He also did a lot of hitchhiking, so who knows.
It was pretty easy to find the same spot where he took the photo from. But there is a lot more greenery today!

We walked down to the riverside to get a shot without the trees in the way...
The bridge is believed to have been built in the 1200's!
We wandered across and had a quick look at the older part of town.
This building is having some serious renovation work done!
In the central plaza.
Hard to believe this bridge is 800 years old!
Huge monastery by the riverside.
We walked back to Max, had some lunch, and hit the road. I had read about a perfect little wild camping spot beside a river that only had room for one vehicle, so we headed there in the hopes it was vacant.
Scenery along the way.
We got there, and there was nobody around! Perfect! There was actually a spot higher up as well, but the one down by the river was better. I backed Max down the dead end narrow track to make it easier to get out this morning!
Perfect!
The Pisuerga River.

Happiness is a great overnight spot!
Busy day today as we want to get in and out of Burgos, and do some grocery shopping as well, so we are up early to get on the road again. We're on a bit of a schedule because we've made plans to meet up with Steven and Linda from The Chouters near Santander on Thursday afternoon as our paths are crossing. Regular readers might remember when we bumped into them in Poland in June of 2021 before we picked up Max.

And in Canada...
That truly is my idea of a perfect overnight spot. Love the photo matchup, as always.
