And it was only 50 kms (30 miles) but it took an hour.
Because the road was like this...
Another beautiful day!
We are headed up across that mountain range.
As we turned onto the road towards the village of Mijares, they had a warning sign for vehicles no longer than 10 meters. Max is only 5.9 meters, so I figured no problem... but there was one turn in the village where even I had to do a three point turn to get around the corner! So I don't know how a 10 meter vehicle would do it!
Looking back down on Mijares.
The road surface itself was in good condition.
Looking back where we came up from.
Fortunately we did not come across any large vehicles heading the opposite way, and only three or four cars. Even then it was a little tight! Lots of motorcycles though, out having fun on a Sunday drive on the twisty curvy road.
Looking down on the road we came up on.
Big boulders.
Looking down.
Made it to the top.
We didn't spend much time at the top. Ruth went and filled one of our water jugs at a natural spring. The sun was shining with clear blue sky, but the temperature up there was only 12C (53F) and it was windy. Brrr.
Looking at our road heading down the other side.
We are headed to the village of Villanueva de Avila.
And they have a nice clean free paved motorhome aire with all the facilities... even picnic tables. Unfortunately it's not very level! But we got ourselves figured out... it'll do for a night.
Today, we head to a waterfall only about half an hour away and we can apparently spend the night there.
Yesterday's drive.
