From Seville to Cordoba... and Max gets a bath!

It was after 10:30am when we said goodbye to our new friends Lucy and Ben. Sometimes you just know that you'll bump into each other again, you just don't know when or where!

Anyhow, we weren't in a big rush because Cordoba is less than a two hour drive, and the location we were going is better arrived at later in the day due to car parking from the nearby zoo. I had read that by the end of the day, most of the cars have left and there is more room for the motorhomes.

First on the agenda though, was to find a spot to give Max a bath. He hadn't had a proper wash down for quite a long time and there was still Sahara Desert dust in all the nooks and crannies. And the roof was getting disgustingly dirty, so I wanted to find a truck wash that had a platform so I could do the roof as well.

And I found the perfect place!

Power washing Max's roof.

Happy Max!
It cost €8 ($11.65 CAD, $8.65 USD) to do the job properly, but he looks soooo much better!

And the same fuel station had LPG (propane) at under a euro per liter, so we filled one of his tanks which was empty.

Opposite the gas station was this interesting building.
Notice the stork nests.

There are a lot of storks in Spain.

Then we hit the highway towards Cordoba...

Scenery along the way.

There is another big solar project in the distance, similar to the one we saw in Morocco.

The highway between Seville and Cordoba.

Cordoba in the distance.

Approaching the city.

Looking towards the older part of the city.

Sunday traffic was not too bad.

It was Ben and Lucy who told us about the great spot they stayed at when they were here a few weeks ago. So we went to the same place. Free overnight parking, and about a twenty minute walk to the old town. Perfect! They have a parking attendant during the day who works for tips, so you just give him a euro or two and he's happy. And quite a few other motorhomes and campervans so there's always someone around. It feels totally safe to leave Max and go out exploring.

Which is exactly what we did after supper...

That is a big old wall!

Mill and water wheel.

The old Roman bridge.

If you click the photo above and make it full screen you can see the number of people on the bridge. There are Easter processions every day this week, in fact there are six different ones every day! Semana Santa is a big deal in Spain, just as it is in Mexico.

The gardens of the Alcazar are all lit up.

Good thing we arrived with empty holding tanks and a full fresh water tank. We might be here for three or four days! Seems that there is lots to see and do.

We're off to explore early this morning because the famous mosque/cathedral has free admission between 8:30am and 9:30am.

Nice deal on this Anker Portable Power Station.

And in Canada...
