Beautiful spot, but not so great when the wind picks up!

Monday was a beautiful blue sky day, but the wind picked up as the day went on.

We went for a hike late morning heading west along the coast. Quite a few other people out enjoying the day as Monday was also a public holiday here.

This shrine was built in the late 1800's.

A nice walk with lots of ups and downs. We did about 6 kms (3.7 miles).

But the wind was starting to pick up by mid afternoon, and it was enough that Max was rocking. We thought about moving, but I checked the forecast and it said the wind was supposed to settle down a bit, and sure enough by the time we went to bed it was not as bad. 

But, I woke up at about 3:30am and it was really windy again. Couldn't get back to sleep, and Ruth was awake as well so we got up just after 5:00am and moved to a quieter spot beside the football stadium. So, not the best sleep. Might have to have a nap this afternoon, not that I need a reason to do that!
