And, checked out some onward travel.
We have made an agreement to be back in our hometown of Ottawa for the month of September. We're happy to be housesitting again for the same people that we did last year. It's great that they like to go away in September, the same time of year that we like to go back to Ottawa!
They told us that they are flying Air France direct from Ottawa to Paris. I found this odd because Ottawa sucks when it comes to international air travel. You almost always have to connect at either Toronto or Montreal.
And I had been checking flights on various search engines previous to this and there were no Air France flights showing up. So I went right to the Air France website and sure enough, there are direct flights from Paris to Ottawa and vice versa. It's a new route, but it was announced in February. So it's very strange that they're not showing up in the search engines.
The price is not fantastic, at about $963 CAD return, but it's only about $150 higher than the cheaper flight that leaves from Brussels and routes through Toronto. And the Brussels flight is with Air Canada Rouge which is truly bottom of the barrel when it comes to flight comfort. Besides, we've never been to Paris so we might just do that.
Near the town of Mimetiz.
Out for a power walk after dinner.
Scenery along the way.
Today, we are headed to the outskirts of Bilbao. We're going to avoid visiting the city itself, we just don't have any ambition to deal with the traffic and parking and people. So we'll get some grocery and booze shopping done and head to our overnight parking spot near the ferry port.
