We will be at a wedding west of Dublin near the end of May, so we'll be in the area anyhow. Looking forward to getting our doggie fix, and of course lots of walks in what looks to be a beautiful area.
Speaking of beautiful areas, we are sure in one right now!
We headed off on a walk at around 11:00am, but with a forecast high of 30C (86F) we weren't planning on anything too strenuous. But we always seem to get sidetracked, and before we knew it we were on a circular route for a 13 km (8 mile) hike with lots of ups and downs!
We stopped to see the church in the village of Rucandio.
There is an inscription in the tower dated 1736.
It doesn't seem to get used, with lots of overgrowth.
Ruth spotted this funny looking European Common Frog.
Very green and lush.
We came across a few old ruins.
Scenery along the way.
This sinkhole was interesting. Apparently there are a lot of caves in the area.
Another ruins.
This old fixer upper farmhouse had a for sale sign on it.
Looking back at the scenery.
Coming back into Lierganes.
By the time we got back to Max, it was after 2:30pm and the temperature was 31C (88F). We were hot, sweaty, and beat!
Around 7:30pm a big cold front moved in with a swirl of wind, and it had dropped to 18C (65F) by the time we went to bed. Calling for a pleasant high of 21C (70F) today.
Moving on closer to Bilbao today. It's Thursday already and our ferry leaves Sunday morning!

It's May the 4th... lots of Star Wars deals.
And in Canada...
