There's one more walk we want to do!

Our things have finally pretty much dried out from getting soaked during our wet hike on Wednesday. Almost. We haven't had any rain the past two days, but we haven't had any sunshine either. Still, the weather has been good enough to get out and get some exercise.

It's a great spot where we're staying. We have a nice view of the sea, and many different trails start from here. And it's only £3 a night, payable by donation in an honesty box.

And on top of that, we have a really strong cell signal. We've pretty much decided to stay a 3rd night!

We got out for a nice walk yesterday from here over to Lee Abbey. About 8 kms (5 miles) in total, with about 1,100' (335 meters) of elevation change. Just enough to get the heart pumping.

On another section of the Southwest Coastal Path.

We actually didn't get many views on this section of the trail.

Lee Abbey in the distance.

Zoomed in on an old tower on the hill above Lee Abbey.

There was some kind of event going on in the lower field below the abbey.

The gatehouse.

View of Lee Bay.

Lee Abbey is an impressive building.

Most of it dates back to the 1850's or so, although there are several much older structures on the property. It's been a Christian retreat and conference center since about 1949.

View of Lee Bay from the abbey.

We took an inland route through the forest to get back to Max, but I didn't take any photos along the way.

As I said earlier, we have a good strong internet signal, so we did some planning for the next few weeks including for when grandson Cameron arrives. The ten or eleven days when he is here is going to go by quickly!

We'll be doing two days in London, then driving down to the coast at Dover.

I booked us the ferry from Dover, England to Calais, France on August 19th at 6:00am! That's when it was the cheapest, at £73 ($125 CAD, $93 USD) one way for Max and the three of us. At that price, it was actually cheaper than I was expecting.

Then we'll have a week to make our way from Calais, France to Frankfurt, Germany where he will fly back to Canada on the 26th. Cameron will be able to add five countries to his list of countries visited! That will put him at nine countries total, by the age of 12. He'll be well on his way to following in his grandparents footsteps!

It was super windy last night, and that's supposed to continue throughout the day today. Along with showers. Not the nicest. But, there's one more walk we want to do, so we'll just get out and do it!
