End of another great weekend

Saturday was another nice day, although with a few high clouds we didn't have quite as much sunshine. Still, it was certainly a nice enough day for a hike in nearby Bon Echo Provincial Park.

There is a figure 8 loop we wanted to do, with the lower part of the loop being about 3.5 kms and if we included the upper part of the loop the total would be 7.5 kms.

On the trail...

Notice all the trees cut down.

There was a big wind storm that went through this area in June, with reports of a tornado that touched down a few times. Lots of trees down, and they've already cleared the lower loop trail.

But when we got to the upper loo[ trail, we came across this...

But, never to let a simple sign stop us, we carried on to find out why it was closed...

There were a few obstacles!

But eventually, we made it to a blockage that we didn't feel it was worth trying to get through. It sure looked like a tornado had touched down...

Yikes. There used to be a trail here.

So, we only did about 4.5 kms.

End of another day.

But not quite the end... we had some tunes around the fireplace. Two of the guys are amateur musicians, and they entertained us for an hour...

But, the weekend is over... as always, tons of laughs and enjoyable company. But I look forward to getting back with Ruth!
