Anyhow, after we were done having fun with the elephants, we had to meet up with the boat tour group at our guest house for a 3:30pm departure. We hesitated about doing this boat tour because it got mixed reviews. But, we decided that the 250 baht ($7 USD, $9.50 CAD) price was reasonable, and it would just be a chance to do something different.
A clapped out old tuk tuk was there waiting for us to take us to the docks. Loaded and crammed in with other people. I was the last one in and was lucky to be put up front with the driver. Not sure my legs would have fit in the back!
This tuk tuk had been around the block a few times! None of the gauges on the dash worked, and it looked to be about 50 years old.... but it was still running!
Anyhow, it was only a five minute ride to the dock.

I didn't realize until I looked at this photo later that the guy beside Ruth apparently didn't want his photo taken! Or maybe he was just adjusting the back of his cap. Either way, it was a bit funny.
The boat departed at 3:50pm, and brought us to three different temples.
We had 20 minutes to explore the first one before having to be back at the boat.

Inside another one of the temples, there were a group of monks doing whatever it is that monks do. Turn up your volume...
Then it was on to the third temple, this time one of the ancient temple ruins complex. This one required paid entrance of another 50 baht each, but we passed on that since we had already seen so many at the main Ayutthaya complex. Still, it was pretty with the lighting at dusk and we could see enough by taking some photos from around the perimeter.
Anyhow, it was a busy last day for us in Ayutthaya. We had originally thought that five nights in Ayutthaya would be too long, but we had no problem finding things to do. Still, we are glad to be moving on today (Wednesday) to the national park and we're really looking forward to that!
