Good thing we all like different things!

We took the local transportation up to the central area yesterday. Not much to see, really. Hua Hin is a beach resort area and the beach is why people come here.

The central area doesn't have much worthwhile. We wandered down to the beach, and then through some of the seedier bar and massage areas, but there isn't much going on there during the day.

The beach at Hua Hin...

This is where everybody hangs out!

I mean, it's obviously because we aren't beach people. But we just don't get coming down and sitting under an umbrella every day, in an area crowded with other people. Good thing we all like different things!

Horse rides on the beach.

Side street in Hua Hin.

Lots of overpriced restaurants in the beach area. We were looking for somewhere for lunch, and finally found some authentic market stalls where there were only local people eating. Exactly what we were looking for! The menus were only in Thai, and we managed to use google translate to figure out what to order, but even then we weren't positive about what we were going to end up with!

It turned out to be delicious!

I had to pork and sausage glass noodles.

And Ruth had the shrimp one.

Really tasty! Mine cost 60 baht ($1.70 USD, $2.30 CAD), and Ruth's cost 80 baht ($2.25 USD, $3 CAD). Shrimp is generally more expensive than pork, but she ended up with five fairly large shrimp! Really good!

We took the local transportation back to the condo. There are no buses... it's more like the Mexican style of collectivo... a pickup truck with seats and standing area at the back. It's called a "songthaew".

Here comes our songthaew.

Just get in where there is room. If there are no seats left, you stand on the back.

And it takes you anywhere along its route for 15 baht ($0.42 USD, $0.57 CAD).

Back at the condo, we used the workout room and went for a quick swim to cool off afterwards.

Oh, we've been working on a future travel plan that looks like it's going to come together. We're going to fly our daughter Lindsey and granddaughter Sadie over to meet us in Paris for a couple of days at the beginning of May. From there, the four of us will fly to London and spend a week or so in England together. Looking forward to that!
