Well... Friday had that odd fog that sort of hung around all day. And when we woke up Saturday morning, it had been spitting with rain and the roads were wet.
Around 9:00am it got really dark outside, and the wind picked up... but the heavy rain they had been talking about never showed up. It continued to be dark and drizzly for an hour or so, and then the sun came out. But the winds increased.
After lunch, we decided to walk down to the old harbor to see how rough the sea was.
We passed through Hadrian's Gate for an ussie.
Notice Ruth's hair blowing around. I had a hard time keeping my hat on!
Beautiful restoration on this old place.
No tour boats going out yesterday... too windy!
The waves were crashing up.
All the tour boats docked in the harbor.
Things are a little rough out there.
The sky is nice and blue though!
Ruth has been looking for some cheater reading glasses. Just the type you can typically buy in the drug store or the dollar store in the U.S. or Canada. Do you think we can find them here? Nope. There are a lot of optician shops where you can get relatively cheap prescription glasses, but that's not what she wants or needs.
So we walked over to a big shopping mall to try to find some.
They had a giant sandbox inside the shopping mall.
It was also really busy inside the mall. But... no cheap reading glasses. Very strange.
Dinner and backgammon.
We only have a two burner stovetop and a microwave for our cooking needs. But Ruth is pretty versatile with the basic equipment she's been given. Yesterday for dinner she made a delicious chicken stew and a salad.
The weather has returned to normal this Sunday morning. Sunny and 23C (73F) and calm winds. Supposed to be beautiful all week, with increasing temperatures.

Ruth is an amazing cook 💛🧡❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIt looks like I haven't lost my touch over a winter of not cooking. I really is nice to be cooking our own meals again.
Ruth definitely knows how to cook in all sorts of situations. Looks delicious! And wow, that wind. Not a day to be out in a boat, for sure. Beautiful view, though! BTW, I checked my spam folder in gmail to see if my notifications of follow-up comments were going there; nope. So, it's a mystery. It always worked before. I always check the "Notify Me" box.
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily! I surprise myself sometimes with what I can whip up without having a lot of seasonings or a lot of proper cooking features. It sure is nice to be able to make our own meals again.
DeleteIt seems like it is a glitch with Blogger then because we certainly haven't done anything different with any of those settings. Sorry that we can't help. I remember having an issue a few years ago where I wasn't getting notifications myself for comments on our blog and eventually they came back on their own but it took quite a while for that to happen.
