So we bundled up and set out on an 8 km (5 mile) urban hike leaving directly from our doorstep here in Preston.
The route actually took us through some nice green spaces considering we are still pretty much in the city proper.
Squirrel in the backyard before we left.
We met these two ladies who were walking six dogs!
The path followed this stream for a while.
It was a little overgrown in spots.
Then we walked along the Lancaster Canal.
It was really pretty along here.
Mr. and Mrs. Swan and family.
Mom and her little ones.
The Lancaster Canal.
There is an old cotton spinning mill that has been turned into offices.
Felt good to get some exercise!
Back home with Stripey the cat.
In the evening, we watched the season finale of Survivor 46.
We're heading out for another hike today, this time in nearby Forest of Bowland. We need to do some elevation gain to get the legs in shape!

And in Canada...
Looks like a very pretty place to hike, but too cold and wet, I agree. Love the swans! Hope you enjoyed the Survivor finale. I did and was happy with the winner!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very pretty walk, just a little wet but we are still happy that we went. The swans were beautiful with their babies. They looked like they were proud of their little brood because they were showing them off to the man who was on the other side of the canal. We think maybe he might give them some treats because they weren't afraid of him at all.
DeleteWe did enjoy the finale and were happy with the winner, we would have been happy if Charlie had won as well, either of those two.
