A nice walk to the next village

Monday was a dull morning, and we had some computer work to get caught up on. Aly and Martin went to do some work on an investment property they bought, and they did not make it back until dinner time.

The skies cleared mid afternoon though and so we went out for a 10 km (6.2 mile) walk to the next village and back.

Walking through the woods.

Things are so green!

Some parts of the trail were a little overgrown.

St. John's Church in Wentbridge.

It turned into a nice afternoon!

Another view of the church.

We walked through the village of Wentbridge.

And saw this kitty relaxing in the window.

A bit frustrating that we tried to take a different route back through the Brockdale Nature Reserve, but about a kilometer into the detour, we came across a sign saying there was no access, despite my map showing two different routes that should have been able to access it. So we had to turn around and go back the way we came. Oh well, we needed the exercise.

The Shoulder of Mutton pub in Kirk Smeaton has a husband day care centre!
The sign says they have been there since 1619!

Played some more euchre last night, and this time the tables have turned... the ladies won 3-1.
