A bit of a late start as we set out at 8:30am. Again a beautiful sunny day!
We set out at the same time as friends Casper and Demi.
Casper, Demi, and Ruth.
Cows blocking the trail!
Look at this gnarled old tree.
Once again, heading higher.
More fields of wildflowers.
Part of the trail on this 4x4 road.
Just a nice steady uphill climb.
Ussie on the trail!
The road deteriorated as we got closer to the Montenegro border.
Stone marking the border.
Another nice cold mountain stream.
Very often, the locals will build a concrete and stone thing with a pipe sticking out of it to make it easy to fill up water containers. The water is so delicious and cold.
More interesting wildflowers.
Part of the trail through the forest.
Trail intersection sign.
This is a popular spot for hikers to sit and enjoy the view and take a break.
A few people enjoying a break.
Another flower.
Scenery along the way.
An old farmstead.
The gorgeous scenery just never stops.
Another natural spring.
Looking back at where we came from.
This was a good hiking day. Lots of variety of scenery, and not as steep as previous days.
Another stream!
Lots of butterflies too, but they don't sit still very long!
More wildflowers!
Another butterfly.
Almost at the guesthouse.
Another strange bug.
Our accommodation in Doberdol.
Basic, but perfectly fine.
View from our guest house.
We got to know all of these people during the first four days because we were all on similar schedules.
Yuxi, Casper, Demi, Ian, Jack, Amit, Julie, Ruth, Kevin.
They served a lot of food!
Again, slept like a rock.
The next day was our scheduled day of rest... and unfortunately, we kind of split up from our friends, although we would see most of them again.
