Another project complete... and two more started!

The paint was dry on the fridge vent that I was replacing, so I was able to finish that job yesterday morning. Actually, not totally finished, because I need two strips of foam that glue to the side brackets that tighten the door up so that it doesn't flap around. The only thing that holds it in place is the little twist knob at the bottom, so the foam gives it some structure at the sides when it's closed.

So I drilled out the rivets and installed the new one. Pretty happy with the result!

For a total cost of about $200 CAD ($145 USD)...

We went from this.

To this.

To this!

It looks so much better that I now need to paint the hot water heater door and the upper fridge vent to match! Maybe I'll get to that eventually. Have other priorities right now!

So I got started on the toilet. As you saw in yesterday's post, we are getting a compost toilet, so the old one needed to be removed.

The old toilet.

Old toilet removed.

I now have to figure out a way to plug the opening to the old black water holding tank. Surprisingly, there was absolutely no odor, and there is only about an inch or two of water in the bottom of it. It looks like it hasn't been used very much, if at all! And, I need to remove and plug the water line that went to the toilet.

And, the DC to DC charger showed up yesterday, so I can complete the lithium battery installation. I'm going to need to buy a couple more cables and wires, but there is a Canadian Tire that is walking distance from here.

Here's a few shots of where we've been working...

Igor is starting to look pretty good!!
