The one thing we miss about Canada...

There isn't much that we miss from Canada when we're off traveling the world... but one thing we definitely miss is pure Canadian maple syrup! 

And the cheapest place to buy it is still Walmart, where they sell a 1 liter jug of the dark amber stuff, (which is our favorite) for $15.97 CAD ($11.71 USD).

That's up in price by two dollars since we left here in October of last year. 

We have a Bulk Barn store walking distance from where we are staying for the month. That's where Ruth gets the majority of her gluten free flours. Wednesday's are Senior Day and we get 15% off.

And what does she make with the gluten free flour?

Well pancakes, for example! With butter, maple syrup, and fresh peaches!

Oh, it's strawberry season here in Eastern Ontario as well. Last week we went to the strawberry social at my mother's seniors building...

There's a lot of strawberry stuff going on there!

They had music.

And it was well attended.

We're heading back over there today at lunch for a resident BBQ.

And, work continues on Igor. There are a lot of interior cupboards, and some of the latches are broken. I decided to replace them all with magnetic ones. The package of 16 magnetic latches arrived yesterday, so I have another project on the go this morning!
