Searching for fossils and another motorhome renovation complete!

All work and no play is no good, so we decided to take Cameron and his friend Chandler to Blue Beach for some fossil hunting. 

Blue Beach is a rocky shale beach where there have been numerous fossil finds in the rock. There is even a fossil museum at the location.

We brought some rock equipment and rubber boots with us... it can get muddy!

We were not successful in finding anything worth keeping, however here are three examples of ones that Cameron and Justin found during a previous outing...

Later in the afternoon, our new ceiling light showed up for Igor. There was nothing wrong with the old fluorescent one, and it worked perfectly. However, at 31 years old, how much longer would it continue to work perfectly? And if one of the fluorescent tubes went, could I easily get another? And, it was the one thing on the ceiling that I could could still bang my head on when standing straight up!

So, I decided to replace it with a new LED model. I could only find one suitable replacement that was a slightly longer length than the old fixture. And it had to be shipped up from the states, and would cost a total of $80.08 CAD including tax. 

Yikes.

I'm actually really impressed with it. It has a touch sensitive on/off switch, and four levels of brightness. On full power, it's so bright it's like the sun is shining! And of course LED lights hardly use any power, especially compared to the old fluorescent fixture. Overall, an expensive renovation, but very impressive.
