We had originally thought we would end up at our daughter's place in Greenwich, Nova Scotia this Sunday afternoon. And we could have, but it's still 500 kms (300 miles) away. That's just too many miles in a day for us.
Besides, we want to stop in and see Judi and Ian, a blog reading couple who we have met up with a couple of times before. The last time was in May of 2019. They live in Sackville, NB at the border of Nova Scotia and they are right along our route. They've offered a spot to park for the night, so we'll stop in there and carry on to our daughter's tomorrow.
Saturday morning, we made our way from Quebec into New Brunswick, and headed to the small city of Grand Falls.
Apparently there are a lot of moose in the area!
Because I use my phone for directions and google maps while driving, Ruth uses our old Fuji pocket camera for taking snaps along the way. It doesn't take very great photos, but it's better than nothing.

We tried taking some of the back roads, but they were in pretty rough shape!

We popped into the visitors center at Grand Falls and they gave us a short walking route that offered the best views into the gorge.

The campground was empty, except for one rig. Very strange, especially for what is a long weekend in most of Canada with the first Monday in August being a holiday. I figured they must be charging too much money, so we popped into the office. The lady was on the phone, but the price list said $47 CAD ($34 USD) per night with electric and water. Expensive for us, but pretty standard otherwise. So, no idea why it was so quiet.

We did a little more driving towards the city of Fredericton, then decided we had had enough driving for the day. Any of the listings on iOverlander were too close to the highway, so we took off on a side road to look for our own spot.
