Pretty slow going because the secondary roads aren't in great condition, but we're in no rush anyhow so quite happy to plod along.
A little known fact is that New Brunswick is Canada's only bilingual French/English province. Yes, Canada is an officially bilingual country, but only at the federal level. All of the provinces and territories are officially English, with the exception of Quebec which is officially French.
And New Brunswick is both.
Stopped for lunch beside the sea.
View from our lunch spot.
Weather has been nice. Yesterday was mixed, with a high of about 24C (75F), but there is a big storm front supposed to be moving in overnight, so it got more cloudy as the day went on.
Oyster farming.
Still blue sky up ahead.
We stopped at the Irving Bouctouche Dune Eco Center.
Irving is a huge conglomerate of companies here in eastern Canada. Including forestry, integrated forest products, building supplies, frozen food, transportation, shipping lines, and shipbuilding. It is the Irving group who sponsored this information center that studies and protects the Bouctouche Sand Dune.
Ruth on the boardwalk over the dune.
Still blue skies looking ahead.
But not so nice looking back.
Despite the protected dune, this is still a popular beach on a hot summer day.
There are several busy commercial fishing wharfs in the area.
This one was listed as a possible overnight spot on the iOverlander app.
We pulled in there to have a look and see if it was suitable for an overnight, but it was awful. Refrigeration trailers running for the fishing industry, and very busy with trucks going in and out. No thanks. It always amazes us what some people consider a good overnight spot!
We headed further north to a better possibility.
Yes, this is much better!

Cap Lumiere Beach.
We had a nice sunset!
The rain is supposed to start around 10:00am in this area, and it's supposed to pour all afternoon. So we are hitting the road early and going into the town of Miramichi where we will likely hang out all day. We'll get some laundry done, and probably go to the library if the forecast is accurate.
