Igor had an adventure!

Well, it was great while it lasted, but our unseasonably warm temperatures have reverted back to normal. As I write this, the morning of October 25th, it is -1C (30F) outside. That's about normal for this time of year, and in fact I see the forecast is calling for -6C (21F) by Sunday night.

At least we haven't seen any snow flurries yet.

We drove down to see my mother yesterday and took her out to do some banking. We've pretty much got everything organized and simplified so that it's one more thing that she doesn't have to worry about, and I can now monitor her finances online in case of any issues.

Tomorrow, we're going for a road trip to take the old car back to our son Alex and his girlfriend CJ. We're going to meet them for lunch in Bancroft, Ontario, about the midpoint between Ottawa and where they live in Gravenhurst.

Otherwise, not much going on here!

However, south of the border in New York State, Igor was having an adventure!

Friends Bjorn and Freya are driving him down to Mexico for us, and they stopped in at Watkins Glen in the Finger Lakes district. Bjorn is a racing fan, and of course Watkins Glen is one of the tracks on the NASCAR circuit. They learned that you can do a lap on the track in your own vehicle, while following the safety car, so they took Igor for a ride on the track!

So, that was pretty cool for Igor! 

Today, I expect they will be crossing into Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, I have all of our trip organized. We fly Ottawa to Cancun on November 11th, then spend a night with our friend Carmen who lives there. The next afternoon on the 12th, we fly Cancun to Reynosa up at the Texas border where we have a hotel booked right at the airport. The next morning on the 13th, we take a taxi to the border station where we will meet Bjorn and Freya as they cross.

Hopefully everything will go according to plan!
