Nice weekend ahead!

Looks like we're going to have an "Indian summer" weekend, with sunshine and highs around 21C (70F). Great weather to welcome our friends Bjorn and Freya who are flying to Montreal today.

Their plans in Montreal have changed, so we will be picking them up there on Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday. We have an airbnb rented just south of Ottawa for the four of us through until Monday, then they will probably take off across the border heading south through the U.S. with Igor on Monday morning.

We've actually had a nice couple of days, but chilly! Both Igor's fridge and furnace have been working flawlessly though, keeping the temperature exactly correct as necessary.

I was mentioning that despite the expensive cost of both the fridge and the furnace (total of $3,000 CAD, $2,175 USD) we are much happier with the idea of taking him to South America because of that. It's a lot of money, but we think it was money well spent.

We've been with my mother the last couple of days. She's doing well, in fact much better than when we arrived at the end of June.

Ruth's sister is in town, so today they are going for a tour of the Parliament buildings downtown while I stay back here and putter around on Igor and change the oil in our son's car. Looks to be a gorgeous fall day today!
