One thing we can say about the Airstream B190... there is lots of interior cupboard space!

We've got a list of minor things we want to get done to Igor this week, as well as the two major items... the new furnace, and the new refrigerator.

Most of the minor things aren't super important and we would normally just putter away at them while on our way south. However friends Bjorn and Freya arrive in Canada on the 18th, and it is them who are taking Igor south. So we would like to get as many of them done as possible before they get here.

For example, one of the reverse light bulbs was not working. And one of the brake lights didn't seem to be as bright as it should be. So I worked on that yesterday morning. The reverse light was a simple fix... it just needed a bulb. But the brake light didn't make sense. When I put the running lights on, the brake light on that side wouldn't come on at all. Strange.

Igor, at our campsite.

Taking the bulb in and out of its socket, I noticed that it occasionally turned off as I pushed in. The bulb looked alright, although the connection was slightly corroded. I put it back together, and it wouldn't come on at all. This time, I switched the entire socket with the opposite side, and realized that it wasn't the connection in the socket, but the socket itself was acting up. I think I played with it enough to get it working consistently, but I'll have to keep an eye on it. Might need to buy a whole new socket.

During lunch, we had some entertainment.

The site right beside us had been empty, and a couple with a travel trailer showed up. It must be a 30' travel trailer. These sites were designed 50 years ago, and they certainly weren't designed for a 30' travel trailer. Actually, the site itself is fine for that size rig. But the access road is a tight circle, and it's tough to actually get a rig that size lined up well enough to be able to back it in.

We watched the couple for a half an hour.
They did finally wrangle it in there!

We went and did some shopping in the afternoon. $8 for a two pack of reverse light bulbs. I'm dating myself, but I remember when they were 50 cents each!

Also got a new hose and clamps for the fresh water tank overflow. It was nasty dirty, and leaking. Had no choice but to buy a 10' piece despite only needing a foot and a half. Another ten bucks gone!

Everything just seems so expensive, and it's not just groceries and accommodation. I don't understand how Canada's poor people are surviving. And yet, there sure seems to be a lot of money out there.

It got pretty chilly last night... down to 3C (37F). The lady we bought Igor from had left us with a little electric heater. Like everything else, it was filthy dirty. I took it apart and cleaned it, and noticed that some of the wires looked a little burnt. I plugged it in, and was surprised that it worked. Problem is, it doesn't work very well. It's supposed to be a 1500 watt heater, but there's no way it's putting out as much heat as it should. We'll have to get a new one. Despite the fact that we don't plan on being plugged in very often, we know that they are handy to have for when we are plugged in.

I know we promised you a video of Igor's interior, but we just haven't got to it. Here are a couple of still shots...

Yes, it's a little cramped.

But that's what happens when you try to fit a full size motorhome into a 19' van!
