You can still buy bacon and eggs breakfast for $4.99!

Saturday afternoon, we drove to Montreal to pick up our Belgian friends Bjorn and Freya. They had arrived in Canada on Thursday and spent a night with a friend downtown.

Traffic was terrible, and there were several delays, with more along the route. Eventually, they offered to take public transit to the north part of the city, and we met them there.

Only one problem... the train that went to the end of the line also went to Place Bell Arena where the Montreal Canadians play, and there was an afternoon game starting about the same time we arrived! So traffic was also crazy around that area.

Great to see them again. This is the couple we met in Bosnia when we were camping with Max and they were using his father's motorhome. We've met them a couple of times since when we were in Belgium, and again with grandson Cameron last August.

We got an Airbnb for the weekend south of the city so that they would be able to leave early and not have to deal with city traffic.

Igor, and the sunrise.

Our Airbnb is quite nice.

Well equipped kitchen.

Bedroom 1.

Bedroom 2.

Bathroom.

They have been to Canada before, but never to Ottawa. So on Sunday, we once again headed to downtown. This is the third time that Ruth has been to downtown Ottawa in the last three weeks!

But it was another gorgeous day for wandering around downtown.

We parked underneath City Hall for $2 for the day on Sundays.
They had some interesting art on display.

Bjorn, with Oscar Peterson.

Looking east from Parliament Hill.

It was a beautiful day in Ottawa.

The National Gallery.

The Basilica.

All day breakfast for $4.99 CAD ($3.61 USD)!

Nothing fancy, but you can't beat the price!

The Rideau Canal has been drained for the season.

It will likely be a long time before we are ever back in downtown.

Today, Bjorn and Freya will take off with Igor down to Mexico, and we will meet them at the border on November 13th.
