Back to Igor, and a nice surprise!

We didn't have to leave our hotel room until noon, so we went down for breakfast around 8:30am and then had showers and took our time getting ready. The plan was to walk from the Mexico City historic district to the Observatorio bus terminal... a distance of about 11 kms (6.8 miles).

And we had a couple of stops to make along the way.

Breakfast was included in the price of our hotel, and it was actually better than expected...

Decent breakfast to start the day.

We set off walking at exactly 11:00am.

Statue in Mexico City.

First stop was an ATM to get some cash.

Next stop was an electronics store to get an HDMI cable. Remember when the screen on my laptop died last month, and I had to buy a new one? I still have a lot of data on my old laptop that I want to transfer to my new one. I was going to pay someone to do this, but I learned that I can use an HDMI cable to use the screen on my new laptop to view the details on the old laptop and transfer the data. I will attempt this today! The cable only cost about $6.

You can hardly see the truck!

Mexico City skyscrapers.

Getting close to the bus station just after 1:00pm, we wanted to get some lunch. We returned to the same place where we got the delicious huaraches when we arrived on Thursday, but unfortunately she was closed! Instead, we found a place that does pazole... a very filling type of corn and pork soup.

We love Mexican street food stalls!

Big bowl of pazole.

By the time we finished, it was almost 1:45pm and we were still 1 km from the bus station. The next bus would leave at 2:00pm, and there wasn't another one until 3:00pm. Not a disaster either way, but we were lucky when we got to the ticket counter that a guy who seemed to be in charge overheard that we wanted to go to Valle de Bravo and he hustled us through to get tickets and over to the boarding gate and got us on the 2:00pm bus!

Scenery along the way.

More scenery.

Arrived back at the marina, and we heard a voice calling us over. It was our good friends Paco and Oti! They have a trailer that they keep here at the marina, and we met them originally way back in 2012 during our second visit to the area. It was a bit of a surprise, because we had been in touch with them and they had said they would not get here until December 5th! So great to see them and get caught up on things.

Oti, Paco, and Kevin.

Paco, Ruth, and Kevin.

Always lots of laughter with these two. And, we get to use our Spanish a lot. Paco's English is not quite as good as our Spanish, but Oti's English is negligible. Anyhow, using a mixture of both, with the occasional use of Google translate, we manage to have some pretty varied conversations!

Sunday is market day in Valle de Bravo, so Paco and Oti are taking us into town.
