Monday was travel day! We took the bus from El Arco on Monday afternoon, for the hour and a half or so bus ride to the city of Toluca where we were met by friends Paco and Oti.
First stop was for an early dinner. They brought us to a "comida casera" (home cooking) place where the food is typically good, and inexpensive.
We saw these two girls dressed as elves.

Dinner with Pack and Oti.
Chicken with green mole sauce and rice.
After dinner, we drove over to Metepec, which is a village that was absorbed by the city of Toluca over the years.
Interesting way to design the underside of the bridge.
Metepec.
The highlight of Metepec is the church on the hill.
The walkway up to the church is decorated with Pointsettias.

This is really interesting, but it's impossible to get an overhead view of it.
Away in a manger.

The decorations around the entrance door are done with ribbons.
Another church.
This one has a concave entrance.

Christmas tree in the plaza.

From there, it was back to their house for the rest of the evening.
Paco is an avid fisherman!

Always lots of laughs with them. But it was a fairly early night, because we were all getting up at 4:15am so they could drive us to the airport!
I'll try and get caught up with another post this evening!
