We've definitely been feeling like we're lacking in the exercise department so yesterday we went and did some hiking!
Valle de Bravo is a popular paragliding destination, and we have participated in that activity twice during previous visits. You can see one of them here.
The launch pad for the paragliding is located in Monte Alto State Park. So because we've been there before, we knew that there are also some hiking and mountain biking trails in the park, but we've just never been up there for that purpose.
But first, some breakfast...
Ruth made a big batch of pancakes and we shared them (with real Canadian maple syrup!) with Paco and Oti.
Then Ruth and I took the collectivo taxi into Valle de Bravo. Part of our hike was just getting up the hill through town towards the entrance to the park. From the spot where the collectivo dropped us off, it was going to be an 11 km (6.8 mile) hike (in total, return) with 500 meters (1,600') elevation gain.
We made it into the park.
Monte Alto State Park.
There was a bad forest fire here in 1991, and you can definitely still see the effects of that event.
Some of the taller trees survived, but still have burnt bark.
Part of our walk was on the road used by the paragliders.
There are some of them!
There was one lifting off just as we arrived at the top.
They have installed artificial turf on the takeoff ramp.
Such a gorgeous view from up here!
Lago Avandaro.
Zoomed in on the landing site down below.
Have I mentioned that we love this area?
This little girl is about to go for a tandem ride.
Ready for liftoff!
I took a video to show you how easy it is...
We really want to go again, but we've spent enough money this month! Maybe we will stay here for a few months at a time one day, and I will take the week long course that they offer to become a pilot!
The next best thing to flying like a bird.
Such a beautiful setting.
And then we headed back into town, taking the same route we had done when we went up. We hadn't had any lunch yet, so we stopped into a place for carnitas!
Yummy late lunch!
Not sure what's on the agenda for today, but it's looking like another perfect day. Sunshine and 24C.

Nice price drop on the Keurig Single Serve K-Cup Coffee Maker.
And in Canada...
