I had to sneak a photo through the bushes!

One of the kitchen items that Ruth had purchased before we set out with Igor was a small 2 Quart Electric Crock Pot. She's used it a few times already, but yesterday she did a small pork loin. So it was on cooking all day. With clear skies and sunshine, the rooftop solar panels combined with the new portable one put out enough power to keep our batteries nicely charged up, even with the crock pot cooking away.

We sure do like being self sufficient for electricity. It won't be quite so easy if we get a few cloudy days in a row, but we'll just have to conserve at that point. And worse case scenario, we have a 10 amp electric charger we can plug in that tops up the batteries in less than a day.

Yesterday after lunch, we went for a 5 km (3 mile) walk around town. There are a few hilly bits, so it's decent exercise. Along the way, we stopped into the Carmel Maranatha.

The entrance.

This house of prayer was founded on February 25, 1975 to commemorate the arrival of the Carmelite Order in Mexico. The name is composed of two words:  carmel , which in Hebrew means “garden,” and maranatha,  which in Aramaic means “ come, Lord .”

This site invites meditation and personal knowledge through silence. The inner house of prayer is richly decorated with artistic works such as paintings and sculptures; the building itself is an ode to architecture.

We couldn't access this section, so I had to sneak a photo through the bushes!

A second entrance gate!

Despite being "non denominational" and open to all, there is definitely a religious theme.

This tiny butterfly was sitting on one of the windows.

Kind of feel like we've slacked off on the exercise the last couple of months, but getting back into it now. Gotta keep in shape for some of the things we have planned for 2025! This 5 km (3 mile) route will do fine for the rest of our time here.

Had a fantastic sunset last night!

The colors were changing by the minute!
