Market day!

We love going to the once a week Sunday tianguis market here in Valle de Bravo!

So around 11:00am, we said goodbye to friends Paco and Oti. They were getting ready to head back to Toluca and would be gone by the time we got back from the market. We are hoping to see them again late January around Mazamitla or maybe even Guadalajara.

Then we took the collectivo taxi into Valle de Bravo. We wandered around first, and found somewhere we wanted to go back to and have some lunch.

There are a lot of options at the busy Sunday market!

Mmmm. This looks yummy. We would head back here later!

Lots of fireworks for sale!

Away in a manger.

I couldn't fit it all in without being on super wide angle!

Big Christmas tree.

Busy Sunday in the central plaza.

We walked around, and sat and people watched for a while. Then headed back to the market for some lunch.

We each had two big tacos and shared a medium drink.
Total for the two of us was 145 pesos ($7.10 USD, $10.25 CAD).

Then we went and did some grocery shopping.

We bought some really delicious cheese from this guy!

Veggies!
114 pesos ($5.60 USD, $8.05 CAD) for all of this!

So we've decided we're going to head out on Thursday morning. Stay tuned... our plans for 2025 are coming up in the next blog post!

  1. What are you going to make with all those limes, Ruth?

    1. I only bought 5 or 6 of them and they are small but I used one on the fish dish that I made last night. I use some in some of my cooking recipes and they are also nice to squeeze over tacos, if I make some and hopefully I can have a margarita or two out of them. :-)
