We managed to get a free parking spot that was walking distance, then picked up a few paletas (popsicles) along the way.
Sadie is pretty happy with hers!
Cameron can't help but stop into the tourist shops.
A beautiful day in Playa del Carmen.
Cameron, with Emiliano Zapata.
These three palm trees had been blown over at one point, but then they continued to grow straight up!

An agouti. It's part of the rodent family.
Then we went and spent some time on the beach.
The kids love playing in the waves.
Doing some body surfing.

The beach was pretty busy.
Afterwards, Cameron and Sadie wanted to try the touristy "fish spa therapy" where you stick your feet in the tank and the fish eat all the dead skin off your feet. Or something like that. The woman had wanted 250 pesos ($17.85 CAD, $12.40 USD) for 15 minutes, but Cameron made a deal for 100 pesos ($7 CAD, $5 USD) for 5 minutes just so they could see what it feels like.

Next stop was early dinner. We had various forms of birria tacos. Birria is a type of meat stew (either beef or goat) and is fairly pricey to begin with. I didn't think it was as good as it should have been, but maybe I got spoiled by the delicious carnitas we had the other day!

Early to bed because we have to get up at silly o'clock (3:30am) to get to the airport for Lindsey and the kids 8:00am flight to Canada. They have to fly to Montreal, then connect to Halifax.
Ruth and I have to return the car rental by 10:00am, then hang around the airport all day waiting for our 10:15pm flight back to Toluca. Good thing we have lounge passes!
