Ruth had wanted a pair of walking shoes. She didn't want anything fancy, just something to wear when she wasn't wearing her hiking boots or sandals.
So the other day when we were in town, she had tried on numerous shoes before settling on a pair of knock off Nikes that cost only 320 pesos ($22.65 CAD, $15.90 USD).
I mean at that price, you expect that they're not going to last long, but you do kind of expect them to last longer than one day!
Yes, they started falling apart after 5 kms (3 miles) of walking.
Sometimes it's just not worth trying to be cheap. We'll head back into town today to try to return them. I doubt we'll be successful, but we'll try.
Nothing better than a roadside taco stand in Mexico!
Sunset at Valle de Bravo.
Our daughter Lindsey sent us this photo of the grandkids!
Santa, Sadie (11), and Cameron (13).
Only three more sleeps, and we'll be seeing them!

Good deal on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.And in Canada...
Record low deal on the Apple Watch Series 9 at Amazon.ca
Wow, that must be a record for shoes falling apart! I really hope she can get a refund. We found that getting refunds isn't as common in Mexico as in the US. I bought a mirror (in a box) at Walmart and did manage to exchange it when I took it back (difficult w/my elementary Spanish!) but that was probably the extent of it. I had heard that refunds were unlikely. But at least you didn't spend too much. Hope Ruth can find some higher-quality shoes that will last a lot longer!
