Into the town of Atotonilco

We all hopped on the bus to Atotonilco at around 10:30am. Have never been to that town, so we just wanted to go in and wander around.

The bus cost 23 pesos ($1.60 CAD, $1.10 USD) per person for the 13 km (8 mile) ride.

Heading out on the bus...

Along with Mickey and Pluto, and Guadalupe!

Nice mural depicting the harvest of the agave pinas.

We got off the bus, and walked around the corner and Ruth spotted a barber shop that currently had no customers. I've been needing a haircut for a while now, so this was as good an opportunity as ever!

Into the chair!

That's looking better!

Haircut cost 100 pesos, tip included! That's $7 CAD, or $5 USD!

A fountain in Mexico that's actually working!

Musical instrument store.

Greenery in the central plaza.

The central plaza.

Ruth and Kevin at the Atotonilco sign.

Scenery around town.

Walking back, there was a band playing at the traffic circle fountain.

Roger and Aron decided to get haircuts too!

Back at the campground, another couple of campers had arrived. A couple from Toronto in a Toyota 4x4  with a rooftop tent, and a couple from Germany in a big overland rig. The German couple, Boris and Tanya, joined us for dinner at the restaurant.

Nice salad.

I had the pork Cordon Bleu.

Roger, Mona, Aron, Owenita, Tanya, Boris, Ruth, Kevin.

The food was good. More of a European style place, and a bit higher priced, but again, it was good. Total price for the two of us including one glass of wine and a tip was 700 pesos ($49 CAD, $34 USD).

This morning, we are off to Valle de Juarez to see Sue and Roy and other friends in that area!
