And there were pretty much right on schedule as they got working at about 9:00am!
We had our breakfast there, then packed up a few things for the day and did the 3.5 km walk back to Sue and Roy's house to spend the day with them.
Oh, on Sunday I had done a little repair work of my own...
Igor's mirrors were badly faded and discolored.
There, that's better!
They got started with removing the molding and stripes.
We walked down the malecon heading back to Sue and Roys.
Lots of bird life.
They've done a great job fixing the town up compared to when we were first here in 2009.
White pelicans! Maybe they flew here from Saskatchewan?
We spent the day with Sue and Roy, then walked back to Igor after dinner. Sue and Roy had invited us to stay with them, but going back to Igor allows us to keep on eye on how things are going, plus we have all our stuff in Igor. And, he is just being worked on out in the street, although Valle de Juarez is very safe and we're not worried about that so much.
The Valle de Juarez sign all lit up at night.
Photos of the progress taken this morning.
The stripes, moldings, and awning brackets have all been removed.
We think it's going to look good without all the upper stripes etc.
They didn't get started until about 9:30am this morning. I think it's going to be tough to get it all finished by Thursday, but I guess we'll see!
