This is where they grow tequila!

Tuesday was a bit of a cool cloudy day. With a daytime high of only 20C, that's a bit chilly by Mexican standards!

But, it was great hiking weather. So the group of six of us took off up into the hills behind the campground to find some nice views.

The fields are full of agave plants!

This is where they grow tequila!
There is a bottle under every plant!

Actually, it takes a little over 11 pounds of agave to make a bottle of tequila. The average full grown blue agave plant weighs around 110 pounds, so one agave plant can make 11 bottles of tequila.

Starting to get some nice views.

Me, and the big tree.
We think it's a ceiba tree.

Another great view.

We made it up to the cross.
In Mexico, there is almost always a cross on top of a hill.

More horses!

Today, we are taking the local bus into the town of Atotonilco.
