During our two past visits here, we spent most of our time at the eastern part because that's where the big RV park is located. But now that we've spent some time in the western part, we like it much better.
We went out for a long walk in the morning.
Taken from the far west end of the beach at Melaque.
Ruth at the new malecon.
Scenery along the way.
Lots of sea birds.
Looking back at the beach.
At end end of the malecon, you can walk on the rocky shoreline for a short while.
But this is as far as you can go.
Zoomed in on the old hotel that was damaged by a hurricane back in the 1990's.
A small theatre they built into the malecon.
Back into town, we decided to find the route that took us up onto the hill above the malecon.
This is where Igor has been parked the last two nights.
We get full shade almost all day from the building.
Nice view from up here!
Looking off the other side.
View to the north.
Looking back at Melaque.
Me, and the view looking north.
After lunch, we went to Brad and Denise's apartment and used their shower. Denise was at the beach with some friends, so we just spent the afternoon chatting with Brad on their patio.
In the evening, we went to the center to watch a small parade...
There were a lot of horses.
This is a nice looking horse!
The parade queen!
There was some music.
And some more horses.
The church in Melaque.
Ruth, Kevin, Denise, Brad.
We are heading out this morning. Not going far though, we're going to check out the free beach at Tenacatita. If it's not suitable, we'll head up to Punta Perula.
