So I wandered over later and put a coin on the floor beside it so you could see just how tiny it is.
She was right, it is so tiny!
Tiny lizard.
I spent a couple of hours on the laptop researching our plans once we leave Mexico in early May.
We want to head up to Scotland (haven't been there since 1987!) but it's still too cold up there in May!
The cheapest place across the pond to fly from Mexico City is Spain. And specifically Madrid, a city we've never been to. When we had been in that area with Max a couple of years ago, we avoided Madrid, figuring that eventually one day we would end up flying there to connect somewhere else.
And sure enough, that's exactly what we're doing.
The tickets are still a little pricey, but that's because we are stuck buying one way only because although we will be flying back to Mexico City in the fall, we might do so from Canada. Anyhow, buying one way leaves us a lot more options.
So, one way from Mexico City to Madrid was 8,950 pesos ($627 CAD, $437 USD) per person.
But at least it's on AeroMexico which is a relatively good airline.
We'll spend a couple or three days in Madrid, then rent a car and head to the northern part of Spain. We liked the area when we had been there with Max, but we ran out of time because we were booked on the ferry to Ireland.
We'll spend the rest of the month of May in northern Spain, then make our way to Scotland for June.

Sounds like a great plan! And that's an adorable baby lizard...I remember seeing a couple tiny ones like that in Mexico as well!
ReplyDeleteWe think so too, we are looking forward to going back to Spain, we really enjoyed our time there.
DeleteAs Judith below mentioned in her comment, it was actually a gecko but it was still really cute and tiny.
Looks like a gecko. We have them here in Texas as well, even up in central TX where it is colder. And the babies ARE really tiny. Cute. Glad you're all set for Spain. I enjoy your travels....
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, it is a gecko but when we see something like this we just automatically call it a lizard, lol.
DeleteI wouldn't say we are all set for Spain, we have the flights booked but that is all that we have done at the moment. We are sure the rest will fall into place as we get closer to the date.
