Sure enough, we found them enjoying themselves by the pool.
Hugs all round, and really nice to be able to meet up with them somewhere warm, and outside of Canada. We chatted for a few minutes, but we would be seeing them again at dinner, so we continued on our walk.
A beautiful day in Puerto Vallarta.
I needed a new pair of jeans, and due to my long legs I have a hard time finding the right size here in Mexico. But there is a Levi's outlet store at a shopping mall near the cruise ship port, so we headed over there.
There was a massive cruise ship in port!
And another smaller one that is one of those live aboard cruise ships.
At the shopping mall, there is a Liverpool department store. I had read that they also sell the Starlink, so we popped in there to see if they had it in stock, and they have loads of them. Good to see, just in case my Office Depot one doesn't come together. We'll end up with one before we leave here one way or the other.
Then we found the Levi's store. Good news! They had two pairs that were my size! Bad news? They wanted 1,200 pesos ($85 CAD, $59 USD) for one pair! Sorry, but I'm not paying that for a pair of jeans.
Next door, there is a Walmart. I found a pair of jeans for 289 pesos ($20.25 CAD, $14 USD). They're a tiny bit short, but they'll have to do!
We had seen that the circus is in town!
This might be a fun thing to do one evening!
Tickets are 200 pesos ($14 CAD, $9.75 USD) each.
Back at Igor, we relaxed for a couple of hours then did the 3 km (1.8 mile) walk to the old Romantic zone area of Puerto Vallarta to find the popular Pipi's restaurant.
Arriving at Pipi's restaurant.
Pipi's gets high reviews, and the food is good. However it totally caters to the gringo tourist crowd. You won't find any Mexicans there other than the employees. And while the servings are substantial and the food is good... it comes at a tourist price!
The have a big selection of overpriced margaritas!
And everything is in English.
Ruth and her margarita.
I had the sour cream enchiladas.
Kevin, Jeff, Peter, Jamie, Bruce, Janice, Tara.
Jeff, Bruce, and Peter are brothers. Jamie is their cousin.
Janice is Bruce's wife, and Tara is Jamie's wife.
We were there specifically to celebrate Bruce's birthday.
It was an expensive evening, but a good time was had by all! There was too much food, and because they are staying at an all inclusive, it didn't make sense for them to bring any home... so Ruth and I brought it all home! Ruth won't have to cook for a couple of days!
Today is clean up day for Igor. He needs a good scrub after being at the beach for the last week!
