Yesterday, we went down into the city to join Doug and an expat friend of his for lunch.
There's a really popular Chinese food place in town, and if you don't want to wait in line you need to get there right when it opens at 1:30pm.
So that's when we met Doug and John.
We have to walk down (and back up!) a steep hill from the campground.
Then we walk through one of Guanajuato's tunnels.
And come out the other side right in the central area.
Scenery along the way.
I forgot to get pictures of lunch! But they give you a huge plate of fresh food for 85 pesos ($6.10 CAD, $4.30 USD). Amazing. No wonder it's busy.
Lots of good conversation with Doug and John. John is from Texas originally, but has been living here in Guanajuato for about 18 years. He also loves frugal travel, so we had a lot of talk about that.
We said goodbye and Ruth and I went phone shopping to replace her lost phone. Found about 7 different models in our price range, and took down all of the information so I can now do some research and see which one has the best build for her needs.
We bought a shredded coconut snack.
As if we weren't still full from lunch!
The central Guanajuato area is really pretty.
Lots of people out on the patios on a Sunday afternoon.
The building with the pillars and statues is the theater.
Low trees not very good for tall people!
Pretty fountain.
The market was busy.
We walked back by the Chinese food place at 4:30pm and there was still a lineup!
Another good day in Mexico.

Fantastic deal on this Collapsible Wagon Cart.
And in Canada...
Great town with many fun things to do, including the food. We always look for Chinese food wherever we are!
