We turned around and went back to the main road, but it cost us a few miles and an extra hour!
Oh well... it was the scenic route!
Nice paved road.
We ended up in this little town and there was some kind of shell of a building.
If not for the heat, we probably would have stayed for the night.
We drove by the local dump!
Not everything in Mexico is scenic!
Arrived in Tamasopo.
This is our first time in this area!
Tamasopo is famous for its many waterfalls and river swimming areas.
We are at a nice camping area and found a spot that is probably 70% in the shade. Igor gets about two hours of full afternoon sun, but that should be enough to keep our batteries charged up.
The river looks inviting.
Waterfall upstream.
Waterfall.
It's a pretty spot.

We are paying 200 pesos ($14 CAD, $10 USD) per night for unserviced parking right beside the river including use of fairly rustic bathrooms and showers.
The view out our side door.
Steps down to our swimming hole.
The river gets quite busy later in the afternoon.
We enjoy just sitting around watching the locals having fun.
We'll probably stay though the weekend and find somewhere different Monday morning.
